Camilo Abdula, a true inspiration and a dedicated surfer hailing from the beautiful coastal town of Sines in Alentejo, Portugal. Despite being born with a deformation in his left arm, Camilo has overcome all odds to become an accomplished parasurfing athlete.

Camilo's love for surfing started at a young age of 13, thanks to his brother and friends who introduced him to the sport. Despite facing difficulties due to his disability, Camilo never let it hold him back from joining his brother on their surfing adventures.

As Camilo grew older, he switched from bodyboarding to surfing, as he felt he had reached his maximum potential in the former. Surfing was also beginning to gain popularity in their area, which served as a new challenge for him.

In 2018, Camilo took his surfing skills to the next level and began competing officially after contacting the Portuguese Surf Federation. Despite being unaware of any other disabled surfers in Portugal, he found the idea interesting and discussed it with his family before diving headfirst into the competitio

And the rest is history - this year, with the unwavering support of Dezsurfboards, Camilo has gone on to become the World Champion of Parasurfing in the AS1 class. Camilo's story is a true testament to the spirit of surfing and the limitless possibilities it offers.
